Re: empty frames
By the way ... I came up with the vertical bar because I was a bit tricky to resize the X, when zooming out. And finally I think the checkerboard pattern would be sufficient by itself, to notice the empty frame. So what would you think, if I simply let the checkerboard pattern on empty instances and...

Re: empty frames
I know you're going for maximum visibility of the X on the timeline (which is good!) , but I think I agree with Slowtiger that the X is a little bit heavy , perhaps just lighten up the stroke a bit ? But it doesn't really bother me if you left it as shown above. I like having the different options ...

So here's a preview : if either "put an X" or "identify empty instances" is checked, when zooming out: Capture d’écran_2022-03-09_13-11-24.png when "identify empty instances" is checked: Capture d’écran_2022-03-09_13-09-07.png when "put an X" is checked: Captu...

Re: empty frames
So I'm going to create *two* preference settings :
"Put an X on empty instances" will be disabled by default
Would it be okay like this ?

Well, maybe I've said too much ? Please delete my post above (and your response, so it is as if I never commented; I probably should have communicated by private message). I hope you understand that what I wrote above was well-intentioned (to get information out about the changes in TVPaint that I ...

Re: empty frames
Blank frame indicated with checkerboard , plus extended horizontal dotted line showing the duration of the blank frame would be ok. I still like marking the blank frame with an X and the extended horizontal dotted line showing the duration of the blank frame . It appeals to me because it hearkens b...

Re: Importing Image Sequence - Missing Frames
I'm glad I could accidentally bring this to light! :) I opened 003 and drew a small line on it and resaved it. When I brought the sequence back in to TVP, both 003 and 004 showed up. I added a mark to 010, and it showed up, as well. Now I can stop banging my head against the wall and get to my anim...

Re: Importing Image Sequence - Missing Frames
Really? That means that TVP does test images for identical content, something I wasn't aware of. Is that an option anywhere? Well I noticed that when loading a sequence of identical pictures : TVPaint creates an instance and exposures when 2 or more pictures are the same. Diving in the code, so far...
