Re: how to customize the color of the "all black" ink pot?

To circle back to the original thread question of "how to customize the color....": You can make an action to turn all editable pixels on the layer into ANY RGB color using this formula: By using this formula on the pixelmatrix command x *100 / 255 where x = the desired R G or B value Exam...

Re: Coloring "rough" drawings-Open lines all over

and i just remembered another great coloring tip...(TVPaint has so many functionalities if i don't use them regularly i tend to forget them!) its called Autopickcolor and it will help you further speed up the coloring process! see video: 2023-07-17 19-27-58.mkv i noticed obs did not record the layer...

Re: Coloring "rough" drawings-Open lines all over

https://youtu.be/FVBTdtT42eM good news... those are perfectly neat lines! With this line quality, using the method i described, coloring the whole animation white can be done in mere seconds. Not exaggerating! Then use alpha lock on he white layer and color there. Or... if you want to keep the whit...

Re: Coloring "rough" drawings-Open lines all over

i always teach this somewhat counterintuitive inverse way... its a quick and dirty way to color your anim in a single color as slowtiger tipped above.: - Create a layer under your rough anim - Fill the first instance completely (Using filled rectangle for instance) - Stretch instance to length of th...

Re: Lock an assigned color to all strokes on a layer

I agree! although i'm a veteran user i still won't be able to count the number of times i start on the wrong layer! an easy system to limit colors to a specific layer would be an invaluable improvement for tvpaint. it could either be combined with the sketchpanel or with the layer presets manager. a...

Re: Lock an assigned color to all strokes on a layer

I think you should be able to create a custom panel with custombrushes that will do this. so say: if you select the blue toolbrush it will jump to the "blue" layer. (either "blue" as a name (layer ID) or perhaps a layergroup) But i don't think it can be done without some scriptin...

Re: Approach for lineless Animation

What does the process involve?... colorsource.png choosing above allows you to color on an empty layer below your line drawing. if you also set an expand the color will nicely fold under the lines. the advantage is that lines and coloring won't be destructively merged (meaning: its much easier to r...

Re: Approach for lineless Animation

Pardon me, certainly no expert here, and may have misunderstood your question? If so, my mistake. Might a work around be, If you have drawn the lines on one layer,, then make a copy of that layer ( call it Lines copy), Use the original to fill the colour areas as required, Switch to the lines copy ...

Re: Approach for lineless Animation

You can always adjust the fill tool's expand to your taste. Trick: it still works with the line layer above set to 0% opacity ... Another approach might be to animate the fills directly, without outlines. My friend Anita Bruneburg uses the shape tool for this, see examples: https://twitter.com/brun...

Approach for lineless Animation

How to best achieve a lineless animation look Years ago our valued friend Nathan posted an issue that i can't remember being solved. Most viewed TVPaint Production ever? Cartoon-Box

It looks like this show was still missing from the "made with TVPaint" section. Undeservedly so... as it must be one of the most viewed TVPaint productions out there. The Youtube channel has almost 8 million subscribers and the series has racked up over two billion views! An amazing achiev...
