"Can't clean some of the backup files of the project"

For a while now, every time I save anything in TV Paint I get a dialogue box saying "Can't clean some of the backup files of the project". I just click OK and carry on but I should fix this. Any idea what's upsetting it? It started after I finished a major project so probably has to do with me moving things around.

I think I've fixed it by setting a backup destination in the preferences. Sorry to shout for help prematurely!
