Is it possible to do dissolves from one scene to another in TVP? I've been reading old forum entries regarding "dissolves", which have been saying no, you cannot, but they all seem to be in regards to the animatic functions in TVP, and are from 2014 and older.
Thanks!

Sewie,
Thank you again for sending me this thread. I don't understand why Peter Wassink's crossfade works but it absolutely does. It's as if the fade out layer acts to block the under layer, while at the same time -- and this is the part I don't get -- it acts to reveal the top layer. As Peter noted, it's "slightly counterintuitive", but it works like a charm!

Peter's method for a cross-dissolve in TVPaint works very well. It should be included in the User Manual under FX Stack > Transition > Fade .BruceM wrote:Sewie,

I wholeheartedly agree, D.T., it should be in the manual. For someone like me, after scouring through the index, you come away thinking that it's something you just can't do in TVP.
Re: Dissolves between scenes possible in TVP?
One issue came up when I used Peter Wassink's method for cross fading - when I selected the "behind" mode for my Line layer and Color layer, it placed the Color layer above the Line layer. I wound up merging the 2 layers so that my Line layer would be on top of my Color layer. Is it really necessary to first merge the layers, or was I doing something incorrect?
