RMB assigned to Wacom pen not working with TVPaint

Post by jeaks »

Hi guys,

System specs:
64bit Windows 10, intel core i7, 16GB RAM, Quadro k3000m 2GB vRAM
TVPaint 11.0.3-64bits edition
Cintiq 13hd

RMB assigned to one of the wacom pen buttons doesn't seem to respond while I'm on TVPaint, but the RMB of the mouse seems to work.

RMB of the pen works everywhere else other than TVPaint.

I had gone through some of the previous posts regarding this and they have mentioned about the erase tool being activated with the RMB. But for me, erase works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. If I move from another program to TVPaint, it works momentarily (the erase function and all) but as soon as I click on the TVPaint window, it stops working.

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

Thanks for the details ! Could you add some screenshots :

• Stylus configuration in Wacom drivers
• TVPaint Preferences (Edit > Preferences > 1st Tab)

Thank you !

Hello Elodie,

I recently changed the preferences from wintab to ink, changed it in wacom settings as well. When I check subpixels the pointer gets displaced by a large amount. But without subpixels the lines are jagged. Maybe is this the reason?

since subpixel displaces the pointer, I switched to ink.

Actually, you should go back to Wintab, but uncheck Subpixel.

When you use "Ink", you use Windows basic features : elements like tilt or floating right click will be ignored.
When you use "Wintab", you use Wacom drivers. Subpixel is a mode that smoothes the lines when you zoom out the canvas (but it shouldn't give a parallax issue).

If despite this, you can't use the right click, check "Options" in Wacom tablet properties.

Hi, I'm able to use the RMB. But without the subpixels option ticked I'm getting jagged lines as shown in the screenshot above. But if i click on the subpixel option my pointer gets displaced by a large gap from where the actual drawing happens. So when I draw, the marks don't appear where the pointer is at, it is displaced by at least 2 inches to the left.

What if you calibrate the pen ?

Ok, so I summarize :

• ink works fine, you can actually use the right click, but you won't be able to use options like Tilt or Azimuth.
• wintab with subpixel goes wrong and I don't know why.
• wintab without subpixelgets jitter line (which is normal actually : you can activa the smoothing line option in TVPaint, if you want), but then, right click won't work :
  • => how do you "right click" actually. I mean, how do you expecti it to work ? as a "hover" right click or as right click with contact ?

No wintab+subpixel works but the pointer is displaced. But RMB works. I'm looking for a hover right_click.

I tried line smoothing and it works.

So, actually my problem is solved now. I can right-click and the lines are smooth and dont need to use subpixel anymore.
