"Deadline" software supports TVPaint

Post by NathanOtano »

Hey!
I just discovered Deadline (http://deadline.thinkboxsoftware.com/overview/). It's a really neat software to manage renderings with maya/AE... And it also supports TVPaint, but I never heard of that before so I thought it's was a nice thing nice to share.
I'm not sure you can use it to render directly on your own computer or just on render farms but it's a way to continue working while rendering your shots. I wonder if there is other alternatives to render a shot without TVPaint to keep on working.

They asked us for a license a long time ago because they wanted to be compatible with TVPaint.
But at the moment, I don't know how "deadline" works exactly.

In the software you just point at a TVP file and choose some options, then it renders it for you on the render farm (maybe it's an automation that opens tvpaint on the remote computer for exporting?)

yes, opening TVPaint is the only way to export from TVPaint.
