Need Help with how to set up a modifier

Can anyone help me with this? It has me pulling what hair I have left out of my head.
I'm trying to program the jog wheel of a Shuttle Pro to perform 2 different functions (rotate and zoom). To do this, I need to set up one of them with a modifier button, correct?

How do I set up that modifier button? I've looked and looked and I can't find any online tutorials for doing this.

I don't know about the shuttle, but would think that you first have to assign your actions to a keyboard shortcut in the prefs, and go from there.

What I'm afraid I need is someone who is using the Shuttle Pro with TVP who can explain to me step-by-step how to set up the jog wheel to do 2 different functions.
I'd seen an old post from Neonnoodle regarding the Shuttle Pro and sent him a private message. Unfortunately he stopped using the device long ago.

I should be able to help you Bruce but I still need several more days recovery. For those who are not in the know, I had a severe brain injury and havve been the recovery at home now and am slow at some things like drawing and writing and using loggic. Getting better by thed ay thougg.
