I need help with my file

While working on an important project my computer unexpectedly locked up so I shut it down. When I boot it up again I find that I can't open the file anymore. The data is still there apparently but whenever I try to open it tvpaint just gives me a new project! Please help!

My OS version and software version:
win8 , 64bit
TvPaint Animation 10 Pro (10.5.3-64bit)
