Looking for some inspiration on how to animate my characters and trying to figure out what's the best options.
When you're mid animating, like doing the inbetweens and keyframes, do you draw all body parts at once (like hair, hands, etc), or do you separate them into different layers? Or do you do something else? I'd love to know!
Your animation progress - what's your preferred way?

I recommend to read some books on he topic, like "Drawing with the right side of your brain" by Seamus Culhane. Despite the esoteric titel it gives solid advice.

Most of the time I do them all at the same time, but a lot of times, the arms should do something completely different than the rest of the body (just for example) then I seperate them.Zemael wrote: ↑26 Jul 2019, 18:11 Looking for some inspiration on how to animate my characters and trying to figure out what's the best options.

btw...
Drawing with the right side of your brain
is a book by Betty Edwards. I really enjoyed it, though not sure if the science part still holds up

Oh, then he mentioned this in his book "Animation : From Script to Screen" which I once had.
