Imported Audio Glitch - ticking sound

Post by totemcreative »

Hi,

I have TVP 11.0.8. When I load the soundtrack, it has a weird uniform ticking sound over the Voice Over, which isn't there in the original mp3 file. I read in one of the posts that this happens when the file is exported from AE with markers, so I re-exported it after deleting the markers and replaced the audio file. This seemed to work temporarily, but everytime I restart the software the ticking sound is back. Attaching an image of the audio clip - notice the vertical lines uniformly appearing over it.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how I could fix it?

Thanks in advance,
Nikhita

Are you sure the ticking is not in the very soundfile you imported? Because TVP doesn't alter a sound file, and if it would add anything in playback it wouldn't show up in the waveform.

I remember that this "ticking" or "clicking" sound issue came up once before , but I believed it had been fixed before version 11.0.8. I've never experienced it since then (using 11.0.8 ) .

I'll try to find the discussion of the issue that occurred previously , but the forum search function is not very easy to use.

Here is a thread where this issue was discussed:

viewtopic.php?t=9070

Someone mentions there that converting the sound file from .mp3 to .wav and re-loading it in TVPaint solved the problem : viewtopic.php?t=9070#p83576

At one point in that thread Fabrice confirms that it is "an FFmpeg rounding bug, so it won't occur in the 32 bit version of TVPaint. We will do our best to fix it in the next sub-version."

Then later in the thread Elodie wrote that the clicking problem was fixed as of version 11.0.6. So it's odd that you are experiencing the problem with 11.0.8.

I hope someone from the TVPaint Team can check your file for you to discover why you are having the issue with the clicking audio .
