Is it possible to recover a corrupted file?

Post by samkat »

Hello TvPaint team,

I woke up this morning noticing that my computer had crashed during the night.Though I saved my work properly before going to bed (at least I think i did), now my file seems to be corrupted and crashes TVPaint at launch (using 10.5.7, and tried opening it in 11 trial version and even the android one, no luck).
So, is there a way for me to recover the file ? It's a month worth of work and my last backup is from ages ago (yup I'm stupid).

If someone wants to take a look I've uploaded the file here : **** (it's pretty heavy, 1 gig)

My specs :
- Windows 10 Pro
- Cintiq Companion 2 8Gb ram 64 bit
- TVPaint 10.5.7 Pro 64 bit

Thanks ! Merci

Hello. This is my first entry in the forum and I have a similiar problem to samkat´s.

One of my students has problems with a tvpp-file and cannot open it after it have been saved. She thinks that she might have shut down the program before it was finished saving, but she is not sure. The file has its size but the program doesn’t react at all when we’re trying to open it in different ways.

Is it possible to recover the file in any way, or is it forever lost?

She´s using a TVP 11, Mac Pro with Sierra (64-bit)

Hi,

Can you upload the file on WeTransfer, and send me the download link in a Private Message ?
We'll see what we can do.

I also have a similar problem. I was working on a project when my computer started to act slow. I made sure the project had finished saving before closing it and restarted my computer, but when I got back TVPaint wouldn't open it. It doesn't cause the program to crash, it just won't open it. The file size is still the same.

I'm using TVPaint 10.0.16
