cut selection in 11.5 Topic is solved

Hello,

when I'm using tvpaint maybe version11.0.09...?
the function 'cut selection/cut Image' cut exposure or instance, with moving behind of cutting parts to front,
but in 11.5
'cut selection' cut exposure, with moving front side of cutting parts to backward,

Is it intentional change?

I don't think that it's intentionnal, rather an unexpected side effect of some other change that was done.

Could you please show us the difference with screenshots ?

I tried to go back to v11 because of this, but v11 crashed every time I run it.

It seems to my liscence is now upgraded to 11.5, so I can't run v11...

It is related to the 'delete selection from layer' that you can find in the right click menu from the timeline.

I think you can associate the key to another function 'fill gap from right'.

I made action with that.
copy selection & delete image.

but...cut selection is usable to image and clip both.
and it was useful edit timeline and clips.
when I want to delete without copy,
or just copy & paste.

The action i made is only for the images, not for the clips

Cut selection is will not be back as privious?
or
Is there any way to my liscence get back to v11?

I'll need to understand precisely how the function used to work, to restore the behaviour and to regenerate the builds, so it won't be updated before tuesday.

Regarding your license, this is weird. If you have a dongle it should work for both versions I assume.

i agree this request was not implemented perfectly

this was my original request:

My request is that when a selection of frames on a layer includes the first frame, deleting this selection, should leave the remaining frames at the position that they were
In by far the most cases i delete the first part of a layer to trim it to match other layers, meaning the rest of the layer should stay put.
Now, after deleting
begin frames, i always have to re-shift the remains back to where they were before.

the general logic in layer behaviour when deleting frames should be:
deleting frames lets the layer stay in position on the timeline

so this was partly implemented, but unfortunately we lost this...(also from my request post):

When you are anywhere on the tail of a layer and you delete a selection of frames (or just one), the layer remains at its start position and the frames after the selection are shifted to the left.
so far so good.

it would help if users can set what the "DEL" button does:

No worries... release of 11.5 came a bitsuddenly, i feel this layer behaviour is very important for teh workflow of any animator so it deserves some carefull attention.

my idea at the time of the request was simply this:

when you delete a frame or framesequence that contains the first frame of a layer let the rest of the layer stay put

if you delete a frame or framesequence that contains the last frame of a layer, those will just be cut off

when you delete frames in the middle the first frame will not move. but here your delete options would come in handy

maybe you can use the lock position toggle to have an influence on these actions?
so the first case happens when lock position is on.
but when lock position is switched off it would behave in the old way?
