Re: blendmodes gone?
This is the 'display current layer' mode.
Click on menu Layer > show all layers
Click on menu Layer > show all layers

Re: blendmodes gone?
Very strange. Is this an A4 Illustration project that was created in an older version of TVPaint 11 and then you opened it in 11.5 , but now the blendmodes are gone , or is it a new A4 Illustration project created in 11.5 ? I tried to reproduce the issue on my end , but when I create a new A4 project in TVPaint 11.5 the blend modes are available as normal. I'm on Mac OS , TVPaint 11.5 (Nov. 23, 2020).Peter Wassink wrote: ↑28 Nov 2020, 18:00 i opened a project in A4 dimensions and somehow the blendmodes are not there?
Xavier is correct. If it is switched to Display Current layer mode you won't see the blend modes menu .
See screen shots. First screen shot shows normal , Display All Layers, with blend modes menu . Second screen shot shows it with Display Current . Display Current has no blend modes menu showing. (third screen shot shows TVPaint 11)
However , it must be pointed out that this is NEW in 11.5 . Previously in version 11 choosing Display Current still had the blend modes menu visible. I don't know why this was changed (and if only TVPaint developers know it was changed then it will be a source of confusion to many users ! ) Xavier, what was the reason for changing this ?

This is TVPaint 11 - when the Display Current layer is selected the blend modes menu is still available.

Re: blendmodes gone?
Well, I am responsible for that ... maybe I went to far on this one
The change is related to this request from Peter : https://forum.tvpaint.fr/viewtopic.php? ... 6c#p121129
1) being able to change the blending mode without seeing the result
2) or disabling the blending mode as long as you're in "display current layer" mode ?
I thought that the option 2 was the most easy to figure out, and apparently I was wrong. Would it be better if I gray out the blending mode, with a specific hint like for the bottommost layer ?

When you're in "display current layer" mode, whatever the blending mode you choose the export (and thus, the preview) shall remain in color mode. So what's the less confusing ?When i view a layer with a blendmode (other then color) in 'display current layer' i see the full RGB value of the layers pixels.
this is normal and desired.
When i then want to export a frame or sequence from this layer i get an empty result.
As if TVPaint suddenly decides it needs to stick to the blendmode.
only after i switch the belndmode back to normal can i export.
When exporting in 'display current layer'-mode tvpaint should always use blendmode color.

Re: blendmodes gone?
yes!
Even when the blendmodes are not active, the moment the layer is on 'display current' or at the bottom of the layer stack,
as a user you still need to see what blendmode the layer is in!
otherwise it can get very confusing in my opinion

Ok, it's done. I'll publish the build in a couple of hours.
