had to reinstall my Windows 8.1 system and TVPaint with it. I saved the 'default' folder located in 'AppData>Roaming>tvp animation 11 pro' and copied it into my new system. Now I have a couple issues. One of these issues (this is the second I've posted) is this error message which pops up for three different files when I start TVPaint:

Your help is appreciated,Unrecognized file format; Expected DIP/DEEP
Re: Unrecognized file format; Expected DIP/DEEP
Have you tried to rename it DIP instead of dip?

Weird. Did you install more than 1 version of TVpaint ?MattVG wrote: ↑02 Jan 2021, 19:26 had to reinstall my Windows 8.1 system and TVPaint with it. Have you tried searching where is this file ?
Re: Unrecognized file format; Expected DIP/DEEP
Another trick I'd try: open the file in TVP and save it again under a new name as DIP, remove the culprits, rename the new ones to the expected name. As long as it's only 3 files I'd say it's just a file system hiccup.

Re: Unrecognized file format; Expected DIP/DEEP
The files are part of the Creation Pack. I tried reinstalling the pack, I'm still receiving the same errors. I attempted to open the files in TVPaint, but that merely results in the same error. Deleting the files and reinstalling results in the same errors. I guess I'll just delete the three files throwing errors. It's just very odd.
Re: Unrecognized file format; Expected DIP/DEEP
For the moment I haven't tried to use the creation pack. Is it loaded when you start TVPaint ?
The *.dip files should at least by editable in TVPaint. If not, then they're possibly corrupted.
So if they're part of the creation pack, and the creation pack is loaded when TVPaint starts, then it's understandable that you get the error.
Have you tried downloading again the creation pack ?
Here's another hint (actually similar to what SlowTiger said) : for each file that triggers the error message, replace the file with another one that you pick from the TVPaint installation directory.

Re: Unrecognized file format; Expected DIP/DEEP
Hi Matt VG and others
I also recently installed the latest version of TVPaint on my iMac and own the Creation Pack which I do use. I am also getting three messages like Matt every time I start TVPaint which are pointing to vegetation_01.dip, vegetation_02.dip and sand_paper.dip.
So it looks like this is not because of anything Matt or I have created or altered.
For now I'm happy enough having to click "ok" three times, but will keep an eye on this thread...

I didn't make it clear, but this is affecting both Windows (Matt) and macOS (me).
