TVP 11.5.1
I work on Windows temporarily. I wanted TVPaint to be exactly as on my Mac. So I have copied the default configuration folder from Mac to Windows 10. When I turn on TVPaint - several problems accur:
1. There is no File Menu! And on Windows version there is also no preference to use the TVPaint menu, like there is on Mac - so nothing in the Preferences could change this. I tried to play around with the configuration files - tried copying folder by folder, but apparently the setting is inside the config.ini file. So finally I just edited the config.ini file and manually changed the usetvpaintmenu line to 1 instead of 0. And voila - now I have a working menu. I couldn't find anything in the file that represents the Windows File menu, but TVPaint menu is good too. However I think it's some kind of an overlook in the Preferences...
2. A problem that occurred also on Mac, but on Windows it became destructive: ALL my custom brushes are broken now (not just a few that happened on Mac). A relevant thread was opened here: https://www.tvpaint.com/forum/viewtopic ... 27#p124715 , but now on Windows this became more serious, so I will repeat it in this thread. It seems purely 11.5.1 problem, since copying configuration folders used to work well in previous versions (at least that's what I remember). Since ALL of my custom brushes don't work, I will need to export the Custom Panels one by one in the working version of TVP, then import them here. It is a lot of work, since I have tens of Custom Panels... One thing I noticed, is that when I click a broken custom brush tool for the first time, there is a new .ini file created in the CustomBrush folder, but there is no .dip file with that name (see screenshot)

Hello Soom, it is possible to select the file explorer via the Interface menu indeed.

Hi Dean
but I don't need the file requester to be tvpaint - I was talking about the whole top menu that disappeared - like in the screenshot.
but actually copying configurations soon manifested many more problems (I added a comment in the relevant thread: https://www.tvpaint.com/forum/viewtopic ... 27#p124715)

Re: Trouble copying configuration from Mac to Windows 10
Oh I thought that you had a secondary problem which was that the file requester was TVPaint's and not Windows explorer. I think we're going to need Xavier for this one

Poor Xavier is being bombarded by all those little nerdy stuff :/
I have updated the thread because there is a bigger problem all together with copying config files...
