Animatic with video layer
I'm making an animatic for animation to go on top of live action. I need to add a video layer as background, just the same as if I were to work with a sound track (except it's video). Possible? Please help!
Re: Animatic with video layer
Hello, videos are imported from the Open/Import option in the File menu.

Yes, clearly videos are imported that way. My question is different: I am looking to add a video layer below the storyboard drawings while I time them to make an animatic. I see no way to do this in the interface: the only visible option is to add a soundtrack. Since the soundtrack timing is independent of the storyboard frame timing, I am hoping that I can import a video that behaves the same as the soundtrack (continuous, independent timing) WITHIN an animatic. Possible?

Not now, but this seems to be an interesting feature request. "Link reference video" would be a good term.

Yes this would be a really useful feature. It would make project files smaller and more manageable, I assume.

Re: Animatic with video layer
It's possible to imported images with file link instead of include project,
but it's inconvenient that the length of the movie file import works lightly in TVPaint is actually about a few seconds.
I think it would be convenient if there was a video layer that could specify In / Out and was read-only and operated lightly like the guideline.
(I can't guess if that's easily possible)
