Old Dpaint 5 Amiga feature..

Post by CartoonMonkey »

On the Amiga in DeluxePaint, one could hold down the "alt" key, and "record" movement across the screen of an element, by clicking the left mouse button.

When the last frame is reached, DPaint would loop back to frame #1.
(Animbrush or regular brush etc.)

So, I would often be draw these loops in real time such as this example:
http://www.cartoonmonkey.com/wp/wp-cont ... 2/noes.gif

I try this by making the "n" key a shortcut assigned to "draw dot" then holding down crtl and assigning goto "next image"..

But the effect is too fast, and TVP does not loop.
Any way to control this more precisely, or add this as a feature?

I can record a demo of the process on an Amiga emulator if need be. Seems simple enough to implement..
Thanks!

Here is my example:

(recorded with camtasia, using UAE Amiga emulator on my quad core q6600 machine..)

:-)

What do you think? Possible to add this type of looping "recording" in the timeline?

This would be a great feature to have, basically like having the autopaint feature over an animated background and with instant feedback.
Aahh DPaint, a program so far ahead of its time :)

Thanks for a great script. :)
One question though...is there a way for the script to take direction and other brush settings into account?
At the moment it doesn't seem to take any of the brush controls into account eg pressure, size and orientation. Is there any way it could accept these brush settings as well? This would allow you to drive a car along a road or a rollercoaster for example.
Also is there a repository of george scripts anywhere ?
Thanks
