FX - Lens Flare - Crashes on Lens Flare Selection

Hello All-

First post on the forum. I am a beginner animator, and a TVPaint novice.

Using TVPaint has been a relative breeze, with one minor irking issue. (possible user error)

When I try and apply a Lens Flare in the FX stack my TVPaint program closes on the spot.

I'm able to open the FX window, choose the Lens Flare FX. Even adjust the light source handles and such. Its when I try and select the "Lens Flare" type (any) it closes.

My assumption is either:

1. My system is not robust enough to render
My system specs are in my signature. I tried rending it with no preview (preview unchecked) and the program still crashed. I'm able to do a 5 layer multiplane camera with sluggish response, but apply flawlessly.


2. I'm apply the effect wrong (I tried to follow the tutorial here to the best of my ability)

Any guidance on how to resolve this would be appreciated.

Just wanted to post a follow-up. I recently upgraded to the professional Student addition 11.5.2 Professional 64 bit from 11.5.2 Standard 64 bit, and this resolved my issue.

It may have been an install issue, or a bug, but it was not a system requirements issue.

Crash confirmed on my side with the Standard Edition.
