downgrade to TVP 11.5.1

Post by Joost »

Hello,

Is it possible to downgrade TVPaint 11.5.2 back to TVP 11.5.1?

The new version has some issues with exporting files, which make my life a bit tougher :P

Any help would be appreciated

I am also experiencing issues with exports on Linux i.e. TVpaint export fails with video and images. The exporter seems to be creating folders named after the filename instead of creating the final files.
As far as I have tested it fails immediately when exporting .avi; it begins export of other formats such as .mkv, but then fails. Changing resolution and framerate has no effect. This is in addition to the wrong format message I keep getting as well.

I reinstalled TVpaint Pro 11.5.2 just to be sure, but the issue remains. I don't have access to 11.5.1 to revert.

Something in the layer structure seems to have interfered with the export settings.
After selecting back and forth between different formats im the structure tab the issue seems to have resolved itself. I'll keep an eye on this for a while.

Can you try to either reset your configuration or create a new one to see if the problem still appears?
We noticed on Friday that it can solve the issue.

The export issue I have been able to solve before. The error message still shows up even after deleting the config files before starting.
To be sure, you mean the config.ini, system.ini, user.rc and preferences.reg files found in the 'tvpaint' and tvp animation 11 pro' folders?

For me most problems were there because some things had changed, and I hadn't figure out how to handle the changes. My bad.

However, there were also some strange things happening when exporting:
-I noticed that a couple of times the files were exported to a different folder than I clicked on while browsing
-Numbers where added behind my export, which caused double numbers (version001_001) at the end of each JPG. (But that's also just a matter of getting used to)

But since I am more aware about the changes, I didn't see too many problems anymore.

So I don't have the urge to downgrade anymore. :)

I was wondering if I should set up another topic, but I will post it here.
I'm aware that there is a problem with the TVPaint 11.5.2 export itself.
-The path specified in the file requester is not valid.
-Cannot export correctly even if the path is corrected
Is it possible to solve it?

[postscript]
I was able to confirm that it was solved by updating the settings.
However, it is not realistic to operate to update everyone's config in our studio with a large number of users.
Currently our studio does not have the latest version to use safely and continues to use 11.0.8.

Hello,

We're currently trying to reproduce this issue in a consistent manner in order to solve it. At the moment, we think it may be caused by a conflict with configurations created by older TVPaint versions.

Hello! Not sure if this is the correct place to post this. I've noticed that the last two updates for Wacom drivers are causing the pen to stick, freeze the program and cause severe lag when zoomed in on iMac/Cintiq 24 Pro. I had to constantly reset the zoom with the navigator tool. The eraser on the pen would causes the same problem. I wanted to update to the latest Wacom driver due to the pen fix for Autodesk Maya Driver 6.3.43-3 (macOS 10.13 - 11) - 109 MB 5/18/2021. I rolled back to---Driver 6.3.41-2 (macOS 10.13 - 11) - 97.2 MB 10/6/2020 and so far all is working well. Sorry if I put this post in the wrong place or its not clear. Hopefully this problem can be solved or reproduced on your end for investigation. Thank you for your time and advice. BTW A Json Importer for TVPaint to Autodesk Maya would be incredible if possible too! :D Thanks again!!!

Regarding my post above here's a look at the sticking that's happening when I draw. The pen sticks on the drawing causing the frame flicker. Im using a Wacom Express Key Remote to pan and rotate. Hopefully this gif uploads. Thanks again for any advice.
