Hello,
my problem is rather trivial: I have a gap between the legs of my character and want the paint roll tool to leave that out.
The space between the legs should not be filled, it should remain alpha only.
But I can either take away all the fill or I will have the gap filled as well.
Help please!

when you click on the CTG layer's little palette symbol in the layer panel, you'll see that in the appearing "edit colors "panel is, additional to the colors that you picked so far, a field (by default with a turquoise square) which says "Exclusion". You can use it with the CTG pen tool on gaps like the one in your image, and it will exclude the area from the paint surrounding it.

Re: Colo & Texture Layer Alpha
If it's overfilling like that , use an Exclusion squiggle to keep that area between the legs from being filled.
