Export to mp4 lossless - Error

Post by Sewie »

Hello,

I need to export my work to send it to an editor. For some reason TVPaint gives me the following error when I try to export to any of the mp4 lossless formats.

MP4_Error.PNG
MP4_Error.PNG (6.08 KiB) Viewed 8213 times

Anybody know what this is or how I can get my work exported to a lossless format?
(Btw, this also happens when I try to export to a lossless .mov format)

Hi Shabazzy,

I'm not sure how to check which codecs are installed and how I can check if TVPaint sees them? I have installed a bunch of codecs over time, including the FFmpeg for TVPaint use, but I have no idea where the system - or TVPaint for that matter - put them...

I'm working with the latest version of TVP (11.5.3 ). I forgot to update my signature.

Thanks for the help, Shabazy.
I have no idea what codec TVpaint is not finding. With previous versions of TVPaint these exports worked fine so I suspect it's a TVPaint issue.

Could someone from the TVPaint team chip in, please...?

Hello Sewie, did the issue start occuring overnight or after updating TVPaint?
Could try creating an alternative user config in the Startup Panel (enabled from the Startup tab of the Preferences) and see if the issue persists with it, please?
Probably a vampire

Hi, I see you're using Windows : do you have any previous version of TVPaint installed ?

Hello Dean, I just tried with a new configuration from the Startup Panel and had the same error occur. If I remember well, but I'm not 100% certain of this, is that this problem started after the last update.

No, I just checked. Just the 64 bits of the latest version (11.5.3)

Ok, I'll double check tomorrow. In the meantime can you please give me the build date that is shown in the TVPaint's Help>About window ?

Have you tried downloading again ? I had to do a hotfix, the setup was updated silently.

Yes, I just reinstalled the same version (11.5.3 10173wo Pro (64 wibu)) and the error still shows up.

Indeed I reproduced it by my side, sorry. Do you have an old setup of TVPaint 11.0 ? if so, you should be able to export your project.

I'd need some time to understand what went wrong...

Thank you, Xavier. So it's a bug in the latest version, if I understand correctly?
I don't have any older versions installed, mostly to avoid conflicts between the various versions. (dongle vs dongleless for example) .

I'll find another solution, for now it's good to know that the problem is not on my end. :)

Yes, it's another bug to fix

Thanks for your understanding, I learn TVPaint internals by doing and some topics -like the codec support on Windows- are very touchy. It's a matter of properly cross-compiling FFmpeg and all its dependencies... the addition of MP4 / H.264 had side effects.
