recently bought a Cintiq 16, which required an upgrade to OSX Catalina, which didn't work with TVP. After a lot of faffing about on my part, and some very welcome help from Matthieu at TVP, finally got the Cintiq, Imac, and TVP on amicable terms. Or so I thought.
When trying to set up an animatic for my current project, I've encountered a number of problems and am unsure if I've messed up the process or others have had the same problem ?
1. when trying to import a PNG file ( saved in Photoshop 'elements' ). TVP does not recognise the embedded colour and won't allow it.
I then saved the same file as a PSD and it could be imported as a layer.
2.However, when I tried to scale that file on the layer, the scale option could not be accessed only the pan and crop.
Then rescaled the image in Photoshop, saved as psd, and imported as new layer.
3. when I then tried to import another psd file as a new layer into the same project. The file imported but, set it up as a new project, rather than as a new layer within the same project?
Has anybody else had these problems and, if so, how did they fix them ?
Thank you for your time and help.

Re: Catalina problem?
Are you getting the error message: ""iCCP: Known incorrect sRGB profile" ? It happens because Photoshop uses a different color profile for PNGs than TVPaint. I haven't seen that error message for a long time because around the time version 11.5 was released they fixed it, so that the incompatible color profile used by Photoshop no longer caused a problem for TVPaint. It may be because you're using an older version of Photoshop Elements? I'm not sure. If you could upload a sample PNG image exported from your Photoshop Elements I will try to import it into TVPaint on my end and tell you the results.Simon W Edmondson wrote: ↑14 Dec 2022, 12:34 recently bought a Cintiq 16, which required an upgrade to OSX Catalina, which didn't work with TVP. This script may help you solve the problem: https://forum.tvpaint.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=9955
I don't know the options you have in Photoshop Elements, but in Photoshop you can change the Color Profile by going to Edit > Color Settings.
Then in the Color Settings under Working Spaces, click on RGB to set the RGB color profile. The settings shown in the screencapture are the settings in my Photoshop. This works for me to export PNGs from Photoshop that will open in TVPaint with no problem. Experiment with different Color Profile options available in the RGB menu until you find one that works for you.
When you say "scale option" , do you mean the Transform Tool in the main panel ? I can not think why that would not work to let you scale your selected layer. Can you post a screenshot showing what you are trying to do ?Simon W Edmondson wrote: ↑14 Dec 2022, 12:34 2.However, when I tried to scale that file on the layer, the scale option could not be accessed only the pan and crop.
Then rescaled the image in Photoshop, saved as psd, and imported as new layer.
Another option for scaling would be to use the Keyframer tool in the FX Stack , adjusting the Z axis coordinates to scale the image up or down.
Yes, the same happens for me when I import a PSD file into TVPaint . It opens it up as a new project. I don't know how to change that.Simon W Edmondson wrote: ↑14 Dec 2022, 12:34 3. when I then tried to import another psd file as a new layer into the same project. Here's a workaround: with your layer open in Photoshop (as a transparent image, no background) use the marquee tool to select the entire image , Copy (Cmd C on Mac or Ctrl C on Windows ), then go to your TVPaint project and go to Edit > Clipboard > Paste Image (New Layer).

Re: Catalina problem?
Terrific. Thank you very much for your help.
I shall try the PS mods you suggest. The PNG problem is as you say. Apologies, I'm not sure how to post a screen grab of the error message, but it is that wording.
The scaling problem is down to operator error on my part. When using TVP before all the updating was set to go to scale immediately, and in my hurry, I didn't see the other options. My mistake.
Thank you for your help.
regards
