[Solved] Seems 11.7.1 donggle version Can't recognize the doggle.

I tested this on two system,
both windows 10, 64bit.

11.7.0 and more previous version is running normally,
but only 11.7.1 vesion of donggle version is not running.

I was using 11.7.0 or previous version,
I backed-up the 11.7.0,
and then, set the 11.7.1 version up, It's not working,

Tvp can't find the donggle.
*reinstalled sentinel protection, but the situation is same.

Second system was my new notebook, which was not installed the TVP ever.
I installed 11.7.1 first, for the check, not working.
but after that, I set the previous version 11.7.0 up, It's working.
but still, 11.7.1 is not working.


If there is someone using the donggle version,
I hope some comment, about if you could run the recent version or not.

The newest version, 11.7.1, does work on my desktop and laptop. Both systems use the dongle license and are running Windows 10 - 64 bit.

I did indeed encounter the same issue as you. After installing 11.7.1, the notification about the dongle not being found popped up. It seems that, unlike previous releases, you can't have separate versions of TVPaint installed at the same time. So when I went to uninstall 11.7.0, the uninstaller removed both versions(11.7.0 and 11.7.1) automatically. Then, I reinstalled 11.7.1 and it launched without issue.

In the past, I've always been able to have multiple versions installed without any problem. Seems that's no longer the case with 11.7.1 on Windows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hello,
Is the Sentinel driver for the dongle installed?
Since you are using Windows, could you try running TVPaint as an Administrator and see if this changes anything?
If this doesn't, could you try installing this particular version of Sentinel instead? Please keep the dongle unplugged while installing it.

well, I see.... Thank you for sharing about them!

My laptop was not even using tvp ever.....so I'm confusing now.
and in there, the first install was 11.7.1

1.Yes, I had Sentinel and it 'was' 7.6.8 version,
2. Run as an Administrator is same as normal, not working.
3. I set it up without donggle just now.
4. I set up the Sentinel 7.6.9 and It's not working
5. I turned off the wallfire and tried, not working

the tvp I downloaded, was in here,

Am I downloaded correct one?

When I see the without donggle version above it, there is some difference on letters,
above one is with phrase like '(last update on December 7th,2022)'
and donggle version is not have them.

and It seems dongleless version in my other system is working correctly.

I confirm that the Dongle-based version was updated at the same date as the TVPaint dongleless version.
Regarding the uninstaller removing all TVPaint versions, according to our tests it shouldn't happen if the different TVPaint versions are each installed in their own folder with different names.

Ini, apparently a faulty build was still available for download in your profile. I recommend you redownload and reinstall TVPaint from your user account and the issue should be fixed.

That makes sense. I do believe I had the previous version installed in the same main folder. I thought this was how I always had it set up but I am probably mistaken. Thanks, Dean!

I can confirm that the new hotfix does not recognize the dongle. I uninstalled the previous version before installing the hotfix, and made sure I had the newest sentinel drivers, and am not able to get past the dongle-check screen. Reverting back to the Dec 7 version works again. I am on Windows 11 pro.

Tried just right now what you said, but unfortunately, It's same as previous....
