forum upgrade
Hey everybody,
We just proceeded to the upgrade of the forum.
We hope this one will address some of the small navigation problem that some people may have encountered in the past.
Hopefully this time the search engine will be useful as well.
All the previous data have been converted successfully so no data were lost during the operation
Hope you'll like it!
I guess now we can ask if some of you are volunteer to make a new forum logo since the old one has still a hard time looking good
Feel free to make suggestions.
the TVPaint team.

Re: forum upgrade
Since the software you are using is very popular and I am familiar with it from other forums on the Net, I think you did a good job of it because some places often overdo the use of all features the software has to offer and it becomes very cluttered. I think you hit the right proportions. I also understand that this is a very difficult software to navigate through, though I've never seen it in the raw.I guess now we can ask if some of you are volunteer to make a new forum logo since the old one has still a hard time looking good

About the logo, may I suggest that it reflect the hand drawn power of TVPaint? and by no means should it be a cartoon! Every animation application in the world tries to look like a Warner Brothers nightmare. My favorite worst are chubby, pencils in chubby hands. Perhaps you should open a little competition and let us all try our chubby hands at it and then let us collectively be the selection committee, keeping the individual authors anonymous to protect us from are own prejudices.

Re: forum upgrade
I like the new look, very slick. Any chance there will be an RSS feed of the forums at some point? I don't remember if phpBB supports RSS, though...

Bonjour TVPaint,
Can't find a link button from the Forum back to your Home Page ?
Maybe it's there but I can't see it.
All the best,
Jules

Re: forum upgrade
Hi Jules. You look the same. I think what you are asking for is now called Board index, at the very top left.

Re: forum upgrade
Hello Paul,
No. The Board Index takes me to the forum Index. I want a button to the TVPaint software home page. It was there before-(The big logo on the top left). That now stays within the forum pages-Board Index.
Regards,
Jules

Re: forum upgrade
agreed, the logo (top-left) link should go to the tvpaint home page, not to the forum Index one.Julian wigley wrote:... I want a button to the TVPaint software home page. It was there before-(The big logo on the top left). That now stays within the forum pages-Board Index.

something odd with the members number ... we were at 840 yesterday,
then, after the forum switch, we have dropped down to 730 !
110 members victims of the spring purge ... quite a big clean-up !!!
Re: forum upgrade
A link has been added just before the FAQ link to go back to the website. It can be added on the logo as well.ZigOtto wrote:agreed, the logo (top-left) link should go to the tvpaint home page, not to the forum Index one.Julian wigley wrote:... Regarding the drop of the members number, I guess that inactive members are no longer considered members, that's why.

if inactive, they won't miss so much here.
Re: forum upgrade
This forum is really much "heavy".
It take longer to display, colors and icons are blinking until its completely loaded.
3/4 sec more per page. I can live with that.

Re: forum upgrade
No such problem here, Manuel... it's the same as before; a second at the most, all at once.
