Drawing Recorder: can I record the current layer only?
Hi...I'm using the Drawing Recorder in TVP9 to create drawing tutorials, and I'd like to keep my reference drawings and notes invisible to the viewer. I wouild like to record ONLY the current layer and leave the other layers invisible (but still visible to me as I work on it.) In the old TVP 8.5 Demo Recorder, I could choose to record the current layer OR the display. In the new Drawing recorder I can't find that option. Am I missing it? Thanks! --sherm

Hi Sherm,
This option is not available at the moment, but it's already in the "To Do" list

Hi Sherm
Here is a small custom panel to set the current recording mode: Record the display or record only the Current Layer.
Drop the file directly in your interface to open it.

No one is going to believe this but I will say it anyway: I came here to find the answer to Sherm's question because I need this right now! Whoopee!!

Re: Drawing Recorder: can I record the current layer only?
Bummer. I can't figure out how to use the recorder and the manual is of no help because it shows an entirely different picture of the panel. When I draw with the recorder and finish, where should I look to find the results?

Ckicking on the little 'document' icon in the recorder panel (the one from tvp, not the custom panel),
will create a new project containing the recording. You can do whatever you want with it, most propably exporting it as QT or AVI.

Quicktime is DEAD. Get over it and move on !

Re: Drawing Recorder: can I record the current layer only?
I must be blind. I can't find the TVP Drawing Recorder. I do have the panel "Recorder" and the panel "Recorder Settings". How do I get the TVP (not a panel) Recorder?
Nevermind, I found it.

Re: Drawing Recorder: can I record the current layer only?
It's under Windows, called Drawing Recorder Panel. It is sensational. I think the other one should be called Recorder Remote control to clarify the duality of the panels.Sierra K Rose wrote:I must be blind. I can't find the TVP Drawing Recorder. Yes, I just got a chance to try it out. It's the greatest thing since sliced bread! And easy once you can find it!
And the recorder settings panel is great. thanks Herve.

Re: Drawing Recorder: can I record the current layer only?
I just got home from work and tried the new Recorder Settings custom panel...and I LOVE it!
The unexpected surprise is that I can SWITCH from recording Layer or Display "on the fly"...right in the middle of the recording.
I can think of a lot of nifty applications for that little trick
Extremely cool...thanks again!

Thank you So very much. You saved my day Harvé.
This really is a nice program. You really could do ANYthing here. I´m prefering it over ToonBoom. Sorry if that name is not permitted here, but I have proven that other software and compared to this, TVPaint is far better, for my needs at least.
See ya bros. keep progressing.
