no idea of what you call "toggle switch of the pen" :?: (I am on Intuos II)

"KeyFramer staying activated after closing TVPA" ??? ... sorry, I don't understand what you mean by that... :?
Paul Fierlinger wrote:3.Fanany pointed to the splash screen TEMPLATE feature but how/where do I make a save?
yeap, I did. :)
from tvpa in the File menu, you have a "Save Project as Template..." command.

ps: to keep this forum practicable, please, ask here only questions related to the Instance Panel,
other subjects need to open new threads with appropriate titles, in the Technical Support section.
thanks.

The scripts are available in the Windows/Scripts menu.
They must be located in the "George" directory.

The george scripts can also be started from an action button, in a custom panel.
Here are the steps :
Open the panels with a click on the Custon Panel button (beside coordinate button).
Right-click on a custom panel to get the pop-up menu.
Choose "Add Action", a configuration panel opens.
Type a name for the action.
Select an icon.
Use the "0" dropdown menu and select "Set script".
Select the george script.
Close the panel.
Click on the new created button to run the script.

Hi Manuel

Where do you find the scripts? I used the windows drop down but there's not george or scripts there.?? Thanks.

Sierra, Manuel says it right at the beginning. Open a new Custom Panel, Add Action (make a button) and I know you've done this in Mirage so now follow the rest of his instructions.

Yes, I did that and clicked set scripts but there aren't any scripts in the load window. I can't find them anywhere on my computer...not in program files/TVPaint or in doc and settings/user data/tvpaint

Maybe I'm supposed to import them from Mirage?

Aah... I bet this is a TVPaint thing. In your preferences change your File Requester to System and then it must show up.

if you haven't a george folder (C:\Program Files\TVPaint Developpement\TVPaint Animation Pro\george),
create it, then put in there all the george files you want, specially the ones from this forum,
you will need this one :Clear_Head_Frames.grg to make the Clone Layer button [Cl] to work,
it should be part of the Instance Panel zipped file.

thank you. They were zipped (Instance panel and george) so I couldn't see them in TVP. So I will download some george scripts and play with it.

i think this one should be a sticky (always on top of the contentsharing page)
its such an essential one. or better include it in TVP.

would like to try this too, but here is my stumbling block, which i've been mystified by before doing other things.

on my mac, didn't find a george folder, so brought the downloaded one into tvp>contents>resources where all the 'data' and 'plugin' folders etc live. then dropped the 'instance' .bin and .data into the plugin folder.

then, following the instructions, i go custom panel>add action>set script, then navigate to apps>tvp, tvp is ghosted-out and i can't access anything in it. certainly they belong in there somewhere right? not on my desktop or somewhere else.

i'm able to open the instance panel, but as i'm new to instances, i'm not sure yet if it's fully functional without the george script set correctly.

thanks,
charlie

hi Charlie,
I'm on pc, so I can't help with your mac problem, though to avoid custom installation of george files,
I think you'll better try to intall the instance panel as tvpx file (scripts are embeded if I'm right ...),
afaik, it will require tvpa v8.6 or v9.x, ... hope it works with a mac as well. :)

just trying it now, and oops; questions arise-

when i download it, it shows up as a .tvpx.tar file. if i unzip it, i get a folder 'InstPanel.tvpx' with various sub folders 'instPanel' and 'splashscreen', that latter of which contains folders .data, .grg, and a .bin file. so i'm not sure where to place them all, or if there's an automatic default to place them. a few times when i've downloaded and unzipped tvpx files they come in a form that i drag onto the tvp workspace and they magically go where they ought.

thanks so much for your thoughts on this stuff,
charlie

Hi Charlie
It's a known issue on OSX
Don't uncompress the file, remove only the ".tar" extension of the file name ( "InstPanel.tvpx.tar" to "InstPanel.tvpx" ) and TVP will load it.

thanks, i'll do that and see.

Hey Herve, while i have your ear, can you shed any light on the ghosted-out tvp issue?

with a rmb on a custom panel, for instance, if i select 'import' or 'export' or 'set script' or whatever, isn't the idea to navigate to the tvp application folder, where that sort of thing should be stored? in my case, as i've stated, the tvp icon is ghosted-out and inaccessible. should that stuff be stored outside the tvp app folder?

thanks,
charlie
