...nice stuff
I like the predatory fish bus riding through the air of Wonderland. The "girl waiting" is not framed best (imo too symmetrical composition !)- but these all are some shots of an animation (?), so this might not count.

no problem, we always try to keep the comments of the artists, as well as the credits.
For the moment I collect some forgotten images or anims in our server and archives, and we will add them all later (december or january)

I vote for the one at the top. She's just waiting for a bus (or is it a bicycle?) and as Klaus said, the composition is unremarkable, yet I sense a story. The other two are like hyperactive, obnoxious children who are so young that they have nothing to say to the world.

psss.... it's for a TV commercial spot, Paul !Paul Fierlinger wrote:... The other two are like hyperactive ...
maybe you don't know what is "Chupa Chups" and MTV, ... very young audience target.
to collaborate (or to refuse to) to the media and the way they treat the youth of to-day,
(must I say "teenager consumers") is another debate, (engaged somewhere else on this forum, by memory).

Re: Peter Wassink...stuff
You should have finished my sentence you were quoting: "..... children who are so young that they have nothing to say to the world." This is why I personally dislike all the advertising styles oriented towards this tasteless, rootless and unproductive age group that hasn't managed to even come up with their own music.
I am not criticizing Peter's work; I am merely voicing my opinion and my preferences in style. I'm sure I was making MTV spots before many animators on this forum were even born. MTV has long stopped being the progressive authority and perpetrator of original and fresh ideas it once was. Pandering to tasteless youngsters just to create shock and awe goes against my grain, therefore given the choice (as in Peter's samples of his current works) I voiced my opinion and stand behind it: I like the style of the girl at the bus stop and I dislike the garish style that panders to the post-me generation.
I have no quarrel with making money in advertising and I've produced my share of stupid and tasteless spots as well.
Peter, wasn't this why you posted two contrasting styles on a single page?

No, these are just three storyboard images , the spot contains both styles as it tells the story of a girl who is waiting for the bus to arrive while its raining and generally drab.Paul Fierlinger wrote: Peter, wasn't this why you posted two contrasting styles on a single page?
She then takes a lick from her popsticle (cause eh ...apparently...waiting sucks)
this causes the world to magically transformed into a shiny happy colourful world and the girl, now transformed into a butterfly is being eaten by an on storming bus which gallops along the globe and takes of into space.
You can find a (low quality) version of the clip here: http://www.adformatie.nl/campagne/bericht/35594/

Re: Peter Wassink...stuff
Well, participating in critiques without being told the entire story sucks too. This has taught me a lesson.*
*I like the spot for the way it's done and for the flavor it creates, but as I said above, I'm not playing in the future without being given any background information.

Great commercial!
It's worthwhile to tell that Peter worked for 64 hours in a row to finish the commercial in time.
His daughter Ireen was born a week before that, so if Peter's brain wasn't damaged to much that last 64 hours, he'll remember those weeks forever, as long as he lives.

Re: Peter Wassink...stuff
Well MTV has never been in such bad condition (and going out of business, so a friend told me). It is because of pudding-headed mini soaps and endless bugging handy ringtones.
And I don't think a commercial is a commercial and in that way disqualifies from accurate criticizing.
