Has anyone used the HP TouchSmart with TVP ? I'm curious how it compares to working on a Cintiq.
In the demonstration above it looks a little bit "laggy" and doesn't have the familiar Wacom pen buttons and eraser.
(notice in the demo she's using the end of a paintbrush to draw with ... the TouchSmart picks up any movement of any object
touching the screen , so you could draw with your finger if you wanted to , or any object as long as it is not sharp metal which would
scratch the screen) . I can't figure out if HP has an optional pen stylus available for the TouchSmart . However, I think not having a Wacom-style pen
might be difficult to get used to. I looked on the HP Touchsmart forums and found this remark about using a stylus with the HP TouchSmart:
"Note that the TouchSmart screen is not a stylus-type digitizer as found on many tablet PCs or on Wacom tablets. The TouchSmart screen uses infrared cameras and LEDs to detect objects. If your stylus has a long, narrow tip, that produces a smaller shadow for the cameras to detect."
There's a portable model (12" inch screen) and desktop models (22" and 25" inch screen) . If the Desktop version could be mounted on an Ergotron arm
then it could be tilted and rotated like a Cintiq.
