wiggly line
wiggly line
This is something basic I'm sure. I'm drawing characters for HD, I was drawing quickly at 33% screen zoom and my lines looked fine. Then when I viewed at 100% there seemed to be a sort of distorted.
Can anyone suggest how to avoid this?

Re: wiggly line
What size wacom do you have? and what size screen?
When you'r project is zoomed out during drawing you are also using a smaller part of your drawing tablet for each line.
This means in effect less resolution in the recording of the stroke.
This can be the cause of the effect you show us here.
a solution (if you don't have a big monitor) is to open a second project window for your project ( use shortcut key M)
then have one window show a total view (so you have an overview of the whole screen) at say 30%,
and one window in which you actually draw and that you zoom in, say at 200%

Re: wiggly line
I've got a INTUOS A5 WIDE wacom and 2 x 1920x1200 monitors. Wasn't sure if I should stretch TVPaint over 2 monitors or not?
I'll try opening up a second window like you said and draw 100% in the main window.
thanks

an A5 wide should do fine if you draw at 100%BenEcosse wrote:I've got a INTUOS A5 WIDE wacom and 2 x 1920x1200 monitors. Wasn't sure if I should stretch TVPaint over 2 monitors or not?

if you do stretch over two monitors you can leave one project window entirely filling one monitor in the 100% window (HD = 1920 right?)
and put the overview window (30%) with the rest of the panels on the other screen.
here you see an example of two windows of the same project

Re: wiggly line
I wonder about one who can do any character design and animation in a project without having any idea of the soundtrack (> 50 % mood). So what will happen if they will come back with Donna Summer, Heidi, ZZ Top ? Strange world.
Anyway I like your style which is looking free and straight. Curious about your new project !
