Helsinki International Film Festival opening film

Long time since my last post in this forum.

Here's something we did for Helsinki International Film Festival "Rakkautta & Anarkiaa". Which means "Love and Anarchy", and that was the theme of the film.
The film was directed by Eliza Jäppinen and Falconauts and animated by us, Anima Boutique).

We used TVPaint for 2D-character animation, Maya for 3D animation, After Effects for FX animation and compositing.

I think Klaus meant "Is the entire film presented..." at least I take it that way just because I was wondering about the same thing myself. We all know these signature films are showed over and over and over and over again, many times a day, every day of the festival, and if they are not designed specifically for that kind of over usage, they can get very boring, very fast.

I see these films as an opportunity to compile many funny, tricky, smart, awesome and animation audience specific riddles together to make people look hard the next time to catch something they might have missed earlier.

This clip also looks more like a short Japanese film to me and I wonder how it represents a Finish cultural event. By ending with credit titles it looks just like a little story of itself and gives me the queasy feeling that the animators tried to sneak through the back door their film to be compared with the other films in competition, entered by animators through the front door. This is not a single event signature film -- something that should be more akin to a glorified animation logo. I think it has entirely missed its mark.

I changed the link straight to the festivals site, where they have now embedded the film.
If I've understood right, the entire film is not shown in every screening, but there are shorter versions too. I have to admit that the credits in the end give it a feeling of a complete film rather than animated logo. But I believe I can speak for all of us that our intention wasn't to go trough the back door, or to compete with other films presented in the festival.

Movie Maker already sits in every PC and is worth looking into. You could start (or even complete; this is why I asked about your intended length) your movie in TVPA Pro's Project Tab and complete in Movie Maker.

Some years ago I do like to make some "AMV" with movie maker. It was really fun and you can do some good things with it =) But save very often, because movie maker love to crash -_-"
