help create Stop motion music video from behind your webcam

Post by Peter Wassink »

Friends of mine are doing this really cool animation project.
its a unique sort of pixilationrotoscoping that you can participate in when you have a webcam.
check it out here: http://oneframeoffame.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

that's original, but a little too "epileptic" for me ^^

:D
It's nice to go through frame by frame, though. To see if you can spot any familiar faces or relatives.

The idea is brilliant but I have to wonder how many tests they went through before they opened it up to the public. Something seems to be missing in how it's turning out and I can't say that I know what it is.

I do like the way it becomes more and more evident what's going on; a guy demonstrates the move and is followed by all the others. It might be in the way they all don't quite follow as expected and I think I'd like to see him show that this is meant to be fun -- it comes through once or twice in his expressions but I miss a more growing sense of fun -- he should brighten up a bit and that might inspire everyone else. I think he comes off as being a bit narcissistic and that might be what bothers me. He takes himself too seriously.

Perhaps he should interact more with everyone else; he seems to be out of touch or doesn't care what comes out of it as long as he himself looks good. It would help if he started over again at times; made gestures that "you didn't do it right, let's try that one again" -- that kind of stuff and because that is missing, he comes off as being too self-important.

A great idea though and I am only now beginning to realize how common it is for people to have these cameras.

I think it's a lot of fun. Probably there are many other ways to use this concept...intriguing. I agree he could be more light hearted about it.
