Re: Lucy and Toby
This is amazing! Not because of the story - that's above average as well - but because of his technique.
First I thought this was "drawn under the camera", only digital. Then I noticed that the underlying shapes were moved like cutouts. But not always, and everything is blended together so delicately! The rich colours and textures add much to the experience, as the simple yet convincing designs.
Was this done with TVP? I'd like to see some shots in original size, to have a close look at his brush strokes.

Re: Lucy and Toby
Abel animated and colored with TVP animation. We even fixed a bug for him because when he colored, he had strange results sometimes. By the way, I remember he simply used a brush from the tool bin that he customized a little.
I will ask him to come on the forum. He'll answer you better than me =)

Dear Elodie, Sierra Rose and slowtiger,
thanks for your opinion. I am glad that you like it.
@ slowtiger: Yes everything was done with tvpaint, from the sketches for the storyboard to the final colouring. Just putting the shots together and a final colour-grading was made with Final Cut. I used like Elodie mentioned a brush from the tool bin and I even didn´t changed the settings because changing it or adding e.g. the function of a paper structur would need more CPU power. It was done in full HD resolution on a MacBook using a 12" Cintiq.

Thanks Abel for giving us more details about your work =)
Re: Lucy and Toby
This is so adorable, I love the story, animation, colour and texture work. The whole use of strong bold clours gives me an impression of that vibrating spiritual world that children live in. Good job!
