re-time all clips

Post by malcooning »

Is it possible to re-time all clips in a project?
I can't think of exactly how to do this.
My project has something like a hundred clips, All of which are 1 frame long (practically, a single drawing each).
I would like to make all clips 50 frames long, in an automated action.
Is it possible? via script? or a series of scripts?

i got the idea that it might be possible to achieve this by modifying the project.
starting with the project at 1 fr/s and then modyfy it to 50 fr/s whilst stretch to new framerate and time interpolation are on.

And it worked!
but allas....only for the active clip!?
which i found strange as i was modifying the project and not just the active clip
i had expected to see all clips stretch to the new frame rate

edit

it actually doesn't only modify the active clip it just only does the first one!...(even stranger)

it is very strange, considering that modifying any other property in the project affects all clips.

I think this is because the project is really made of individual clips. Each clip is not just an extension of the first one. I realized this when I once changed the two colors that form the virtual background of a clip and to my surprise this change didn't occur in all the clips.

Why then when can you not crop an individual clip?
If you do so it crops the whole project.

Well isn't that the beauty of the beast? While each clip is an independent entity it remains an integral portion of the whole.

no because after modifying the project all of the clips change their framerate
and regardless of what clip was selected only the first one does so respecting the stretch and time setting.
sorry Paul but to me this makes no sense at all.

it looks like a bug, and I presume, not so hard to fix.
