camera after project resize

Post by Animark »

Hello,

is there a way to scale the camera together with the project size?

I have a project at 1920x1080 with some camera movements. I want to resize it to a width of 6000 pixel. I use the "modify project" function, but in the new project my camera stays with its original settings and I have to do the camera movements again.

Thanks from Animark

Try to change the parameters, it should change all the camera's points at the same size =)

There used to be a bug that caused the camera not to scale upon project modification. but it was fixed. do you have the latest TVP version?

Hi and thanks for your help,

unfortunately it doesn't helped ;-).
- I have the latest update
- I can change the parametres of the cam and it changes every cam-frame - but not the path.
- The cams width and height is changing automatically (scale) after resize, but not the path.

Here is a picture showing the project in 1920 (before) and 6000 (after). I think it demonstrates the problem very well.

I have a workaround for that problem (make kind of layout-level to have "markers" to reproduce the cam movement), but I would prefer not to place the cam a second time.

I recreated the situation here, and upscaled 1920 to 6000, and my camera translated well, including the path.
see images (the 6000px is smaller here only because I zoomed out when I captured the screen):

I have the exact same problem and have brought it up recently as something that needs to be looked into.

Interesting; I replicated the exact move as well and it works -- the move follows the enlargement. This makes me think that there is some setting that makes it not work and I don't have that activated -- what could it be? :o

This is really strange. I tried several times, but never got good results. I tried with one and more frames, with cam locked and not, with different project sizes.
My TVP is 9.5.18. I think, it is the latest. Maybe you have a newer beta-version?

Yes, what could it be?

yep, bug not fixed in the 9.5.18 version.

It will be fixed in a future version of the product, which is still under development.

Sorry, please be patient.

Hello,

I like to know if the bug discussed here is fixed in 9.5.21?
The problem exists still in my 9.5.21, but not at our filmschools 9.5.21 ( I am not 100% sure). So I am a little bit confused and would like to hear an official statement :?

Thanks from Animark

hi Animark,
it seems to work properly here since a (beta) v9.5.20 dated dec. 2010.
I also have an older version (sept. 2010) on another computer, with the bug still present.
so I guess every "post-december" public version should work fine.
now, you have to wait an "official statement" for the last words. :)

what's the date you get with "Help/about TVPA ..." ?

Hmh?

MY 9.5.21 is stamped as Oct 13 2011. Maybe I should reinstall my version - there must something went wrong with my updates :? . I miss the old forum posting with the 9.5 updates. It gave some orientation on when was an update published and what changed and fixed.

After reread your post and think: Are you sure with 2010? My bug report was from May 2011.

Thanks!

not sure if it's the real date of this build, but it's the one announced with the "About ..." from the menu (dec. 13 2010). :?
in may 2011, (according to Malcooning few posts above), the bug was already fixed, but probably not released.

OK, I've tested the 9.5.21 - Okt 13 2011 at school and the cam-resize-bug is fixed in that version. I think my 9.5.21 at home is broken caused of some update trouble I had somewhere in the past. I will reinstall it.

But the bug-fixed cam in 9.5.21 have the same problems like the cam in TVP 10 I've written in the other post:
