Repeat until

Hi!

Using timeline functions hold/repeat/pingpong, can you repeat until certain point? or can you end some of the layers before the others end?
If id like to do for example:
a girl sitting still ------------ clap her hands clap clap clap (and repeat forever)
That's easy.
But if i want to change her repeating action, for example:
a girl sitting still ------------ clap her hands clap clap clap (and repeat for 30 sec ) and then ----------sitting still----------jump jump jump (and repeat)

Can you do that easily or does it have to be done manually?
Did anyone understand what i meant?
