Can I export only exposures (heads)?
Hello!
with PAP, I can export only the exposure frames (not the clones) in the naming format 'helloXXXX.png' where XXXX is the frame number the frame should appear.
Is it possible to export in a similar format from TVP? In the export dialogue i only see 'sequence' or 'still frame' where sequence exports every single frame...
Thanks!

If I understand you correctly, you want to overwrite a selection of existing frames with new ones. This can be done if you select the frames in the Export Panel's Preview window by setting in and out points to the frame or number of frames you want to be replaced.

Re: Can I export only exposures (heads)?
I think he meant something different.
Imagine a scene done on two's. The instances will have the frame numbers 1, 3, 5, 7... while the exposure will have 2, 4, 6, 8... Now what he wants (I think) is to export only frames 1, 3, 5, 7... and have those images named scene_a_0001, scene_a_0003, scene_a_0005 or something like that.
I can imagine some uses for that, especially saving disc space by omitting all duplicates. But I think it also needs a target application which is able to import those images and put them right at the approproiate frame number - that would be a nice feature for TVP as well!

Re: Can I export only exposures (heads)?
Hey slowtiger,
That's exactly what I mean - and the reason is Synthsin recently created a script for me that does exactly that in Anime Studio - you hit a button, select one of the frames of a sequence, and it imports a switch layer which has the frames panned on the frames they need to be on. You can also add extra frames and re-run the script and those frames will be added at their correct location, while being able to retime the switch frames in AS itself and not overwriting your timing changes... and not only that, it automatically uses creates transparent backgrounds by using the transparency tool on images based on the top right pixel of the drawing! I'll PM you the script if you're interested.
It would be great to be able to export this way (its also useful if you want to edit those frames in another application or colour them in).
I'm not dealing with a great deal of frames right now - my 9 second sequence has about 14 frames - i'm using it to rough out pencils/timing - so at this point it's feasable to export the frames I need manually and name them. but once it get's more complicated an automated process would be much better.
Thanks

I was just about to beg for it! Does it work with version 5.6 or 6.2?I'll PM you the script if you're interested.

Ah, no. 8 only I'm afraid... He said he could convert to v7 if there was interest...i think it relies on some new additions to the scripting interface (?)

btw, should I take this as a 'no' to the original question?

It's only a "not yet" for the time being. I take good note of your request.Funksmaname wrote:btw, should I take this as a 'no' to the original question?

Re: Can I export only exposures (heads)?
That's a very old thread , but is there any progress about it? I often need to export only the Heads to rework them in another software...

Re: Can I export only exposures (heads)?
You can do it with Mads After Effects script. If you click the button it will create a folder for every visible layer and export only the heads of the layers in there.
CSV-export could maybe a solution too, but i'm not really familiar with it.

Re: Can I export only exposures (heads)?
that works for me!
I am using the Mads Tracker panel to name all the images and reapply the color on the same instances they are supposed to be - it's a workaround, but quite simple
Thanks for all the help , especially for Mads for all these useful tools

Re: Can I export only exposures (heads)?
Great it worked for you. Maybe you could check out the CSV-export. I don't know if it's available in 10 and if I'm right, but it seems this method outputs heads only too.
