Hey,
I have an question.I create a new layer and put an effect on it. Under this layer i have two other layers. for example Layer one with a star, layer two with a circle. this two layers I put in the source of the effect. now i can hide the two layers, because i see them in the layer with the effect. now i can work with the effect and make keys. its easier to work with one layer than with two.
But sometime i decide to change the layer with the star and the circle and to draw instead of a star a square. So i change. But now i have the problem, that the layer with the effect dont make an update of this change. it is still a star. But why? because in the source (in the FX stack) is written: layer one. That means, that the source refers to this layer. And when i change the layer with the star, then it have to change in the layer with the effect, too, because of the source. is there a possibility, that the update work?
Layer with effect
Re: Layer with effect
TVP is bitmap oriented and renders everything once you've hit "apply". So there's no autmatic updating.
But you can save all your FX settings in the FX bin (and even import them), create any number of new layers, and re-apply the same effect onto different source material.

Re: Layer with effect
thanks. as ive said, i work with adjustment layer, when i want to work with an effect. that mean, if i have two layers and i want to give them the same effect, so create a clear layer and give him the effect(with source). Do you think, that is a good way?????? Because the problem is, when i want to change the effect, he duplicates the images. i found a way to remove it, when i go to the BLEND Modus= Substitute. So he put the image on the first image. But when i change the x-value, i can see the first image again. I do it right, or is it the wrong way?

Re: Layer with effect
yes, I think you do it right, when you want to modify an FX (already appied on your working layer), you can start by a [Layer: Select All Images] + [Layer: Clear], so your animlayer will be back empty , and so ready for a new test.
