Can't get TVP Animation to open after installation [solved]

Hi,

I'm trying to install TVP animation 9.5 on my imac. It installs ok, everything seems fine. But when I try to start the software it shuts down after a half second saying "TVP Animation 9 pro quit unexpectedly".
I have had the software installed on my old imac and it ran without problems. Does anyone know why this is happening?
And also, my computer can't find the dongle. I've tried every USB port and it glows green in everyone but still can't be found by the computer.
I've also downloaded and installed the latest version of Sentinel.

This is frustrating, what can I do?

Don't forget do re-start the Mac after installing the Sentinel Driver!

I restarted the computer after installing. Still doesn't work, it shuts down after half a second:(

I really don't know what to do, and I need the software.

I've done all the system updates for my computer, followed the installation instructions for TVP animation, downloaded the latest update etc.

Open the console (/Applications/Utilities/Console.app), then start TVPA.
See if any messages appear there, and post them here.

Nothing works. I can't understand why it is acting like this, I've never had any problem installing software on my mac.
Does anyone know who I can turn to with this problem?

I am a new user of TVP and I am on a intel mac tower the soft ware runs but it is buggy- also I had no intallation issues ...sorry I cant help you with that but...
I would reccomend getting a pc- from what I have seen the software is worth it
and you can pick up a cheap pc and keep it off the web and just do the tvpaint work on it... that is what I am in the process of doing.

You can run Windows on your Intel Mac, can't you (using BootCamp or whatever), no need for a second machine .. or Linux, for that matter (TVP runs on Linux, too)

I really don't think I should have to buy a new computer for it to work. The software obviously works on mac, and I have had it on one before, without any problems.

Hi,

Don't buy a PC !

Try this:
- update your System
- update the Wacom drivers (Important !)
- remove or rename your config folder (/Users/<your user name>/Library/tvp animation 9 pro).
(Be sure to have the latest build of TVPaint (9.5.21).)
- Install the sentinel driver from this build.
- Reinstall TVPaint.

Try again and keep me informed.

Saying it's buggy, without explaining what the potential bugs could be, is not helping anybody ...

Please tell us precisely where you have problems. We have between 1/3 and 1/2 of our users having a MAC, and not having problems ... so if you tell us where are your own problems, you will be part of them.
If required, open a new topic.

I was going to post a similar reply to what Fabrice posted above regarding the Mac . I am also running TVPaint on intel Mac and have not noticed any buggy behavior. Everything runs flawlessly (version 9.5.21)

What odd behavior are you noticing when running TVPaint on your intel Mac ? If you can post some specifics we can probably find a way to tweak your settings to make it run smooth.

It finally started and seems to be working fine.
