Can I Get My Old TVP Pro 8.5 Back? [solved]

Post by Gochris1 »

Hi Elodie:

If you check your records, I use TVP Pro 8.5. My computer is old, it runs on Windows 2000 Pro.

This problem is sort of embarrassing. I accidentally erased my TVP 8.5 from my hard drive. So I don't have it any more. In the past when something like this would happen, I would download the current version of TVP and put in my unlock code and TVP would work fine.

But now TVP is on version 9.5. I downloaded it, and tried to install it on my Windows 2000 computer, and it wouldn't work. And that makes sense, since it is supposed to run on Windows XP or higher.

I plan on getting TVP Pro 9.5 early next year. But until then, I would like to keep using TVP Pro 8.5.

I tried the "Update/Upgrade" page. I am putting my lock and unlock code in, and getting this message:
There is a problem with your lockcode/unlockcode, please contact TVPaint.

I have a few numbers from my Mirage software, but they are not working in the Update/Upgrade fields. The Mirage number on my dongle does not seem to be what I need.

What do I do? Is there any way to get version 8.5 pro?

Thanks

Thanks for responding so quickly to my post.

I have installed TVP 8.6.4 Pro.

It will open. I can paint a single frame with it.

When ever I try to add 25 or more anim frames, the proxy window will only fill with 9 or 10 frames. Then it will take about 45 seconds or a minute to
fill with the remaining frames. After that, I can start animating.

I'll bet there is something very simple that will fix this.

Thanks,
Chris

can you upload screenshots ?

I don't understand how can you obtain only 9 instances if you ask for 25.

2. I drag out 25 frames on the time line. But the proxy only fills with 12 frames, not 25.

Even if I add to the cache, I have the same problem. It takes a minute for the proxy to fill.

Chris, you are able to draw, even if the proxy is calculating...

But if you don't want any proxy :Windows > Display settings > and disable the proxy.

No, I am not able to draw when the proxy is calculating. TVP locks up.

But I did windows>display and disabled the proxy. Now it is working.

Thanks!
