Get About Liftshare -STV advert
A little advert made by Adam Proctor for STV. It's made with TVPaint and AfterEffect.

So what part required AfterEffects? (nothing against AE , it's a fine application in it's own right) But this seems like it could all be done in TVPaint.

On Vimeo :
A little advert for a local car sharing scheme I animated for STV. I used TVPaint and After Effects to put the whole thing together.

A full 3d camera is the only thing I can think of that AE can do that TVP can't. And this doesn't look like it uses it. Hmm.

Hello,
I used After Effects for compositing and bringing all the various assets together. It's real basic animation compared to the beautiful works on display in this forum, but that's what the client and producer called for.
Personally I find the AE interface and toolset much more intuitive - I'm still on TVPaint 8.6.2 and I find it pretty clunky to use (has it improved any?), hence my preference for AE for post production.
That's all down to the fact that I tend to work with vector/flash animation more, so still have a lot more hours to clock up in TVPaint unless I can find a suitable alternative.

Welcome to the TVPaint community adam
Thank you for sharing these information, and it's a nice animation you did.
And If you want the really last version (9.5.21), you have to make an upgrade : see all our prices here.

I can thin of a lot of stuff After effect can do that TV Paint can't(and vice-versa) for instanceCartoonMonkey wrote:A full 3d camera is the only thing I can think of that AE can do that TVP can't. And this doesn't look like it uses it. Hmm.
Real time lossless effects pr. layer.
Composition in composition.
every layer has Animated properties like position scale and rotation.
animated masks.
the other way around is is almost impossible to draw and make frame by frame animation in After effect.
In my opinion It is two different programs that compliment each other.

Aye,
They all make for a rich toolbox for people like myself who without them might have been unable to become animators and filmmakers.
Here's to the fine work by software developers.
Thanks for the information about the upgrades Eric.

Re: Get About Liftshare -STV advert
Nice movie, but anybody want personal car
Welcome to make animation online!
Re: Get About Liftshare -STV advert
There is a difference between having a personal car and liftsharing. You can have your car and do liftsharing.
It's more economical, ecological and more friendly. And it's a good solution when you can't take train or bus.
