Velo Hoot

"A fuzzy owl has a grand day planned for the apple of his eye. Unfortunately, these plans are dashed! Or are they? Animated thesis film by Mary J. Lai, at the UCLA Animation Workshop, 2010. Recipient of the Matt Groening Initiative award! Thank you for your generosity, Matt!! Received the Best Animation award at The UCLA Animation Film Festival, Prom 2010.

So, little bit about the process.. :) Backgrounds are all hand inked and painted watercolor by me on arches coldpress. I'm a big fan of Winsor Newton series 7 brushes (no, I'm not a brush snob! Ok a little..) Wonderful music composition is by the very talented composer Joe Trapanese, who also conducted the live orchestration recorded at The Village. Animation layout and key frames were done on paper, then inbetweened, inked, and colored in TVPaint. Sound Design and mix done by plyvinyl. Thank you everybody for your help and support!"

a big THANKS Eric :

I saw it when I visited UCLA in April, and I can confirm it was made with TVPaint.
I was unable to find it on the web, it's now done. :)
