Odd artifact in the track and skipping etc

I have this odd artifact in the sound track and when I try to play the track in the clip window it sounds like a record stuck in a groove.
. the track is playing in the project window.
The track is not corrupted and it is a wave file made in audiacity on a lovely new PC which is not on the internet at all.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know this keeps happening over and over when i load new files...

After loading and reloading the track finally I was able to get it in with out the artifact in the master track...
I have no idea what caused it -
