Lubuntu

Post by Mads Juul »

I'm trying just for fun and to learn some more about linux to install TVPaint on Lubuntu
first it wouldn't install. But then I was told I should install gconf-editor first
so I wrote in the terminal

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install gconf-editor
and then TVP installed and It open. but now I have the next questions.
When I try to add sound files to TVP it says:
Can't open the file "myfilepath/myfile.wav"
it is possible to play the file in Lubuntu with the default sound program Audicious.
Any suggestens hoe to make TVP import sound on Lubuntu?

Do you have the correct sampling & bit depth setup under Preferences to match what is in your WAV file?

I've gotten audio to load under Linux, but playback doesn't work very well (I do all of my audio work on separate dedicated machine anyway, so didn't investigate very far). Hopefully it will work better in the new release.

I don't think so The wav files I try to import. it is possible to import in Ubuntu so lubuntu is missing something.

I more think it has something to do that maybe TVP relies on pulse audio or some other audio packages witch is not included with Lubuntu (but with ubuntu). But I'm not sure which or if this assumption is correct. and if it is which audio packages should I install.
