I had this issue yesterday after installing TVP 10 (on Linux), I restarted my machine and the problem went away. It might even get cleared by logging out and then logging back in, apparently there is internal configuration getting cached or something.Sewie wrote:And for icons to disappear entirely? Re: TVPaint Animation 10.0 Feedback
Concerning Audio and playsback speed (on MAC.)
I have an audio-file with 23.03 fps which I importet via the Clip:TimeLine, Load ...
I tried to animate with 12.5 fps and also with 25 fps.
so I called the Magic Number (1210) and set the congenial speed to my framerate:
in 9.5 it works, and in 10 it doesn't.
So is Magic Number killed, and if so - how can I put the audio-files to go with 12.5 fps ???

Set Scrub Duration to 12.5, set Playback Frame Rate to 12.5, pressed the Playback Preview button:
No that doesn't work. It sounds like a frog singing.

Re: TVPaint Animation 10.0 Feedback
Scrub duration should be minimal, such as 0.10. It is just for mechanical scrubbing duration; how long you want to hear the sound after you stop advancing the cursor. It is not a playback setting.

Is your sound too fast or too slow ?
The scrub duration defines the duration (not the speed) of the sound played when you switch from one frame to another. ( I don't know if you will understand, it's strange to explain ) . 0.2 should be enough.

Yes that's right - so is there a chance for audio playback @ 12.5 in preview-modus. -?-

Re: TVPaint Animation 10.0 Feedback
The playback at 25 fps is (-of course-) a little too fast (just like a eunuch singing), I think, because of the audio file is 23,03 fps.
At 12.5 playback speed of the clip it is frog-sound.
In 9.5 I could fix it with Magic Number.
I am not speaking of scrubbing. So it also doesn't help to set it to 0.2 (Scrub Duration in Sound/Pref)

An audio file doesn't have fps...Klaus Hoefs wrote:I have an audio-file with 23.03 fps which I importet via the Clip:TimeLine, Load ...
What is its sampling rate ? (that's expressed in kHz)
Load it in some audio editor (like audacity) and see what it is.
Then set the same value in TVPaint (Preferences > Sound > Sampling Rate).
If it is in some strange sampling rate that isn't in the popup, convert it in audacity to one of the supported values.
If it still doesn't work, send me the file.
Code: Select all

Re: TVPaint Animation 10.0 Feedback
Sorry, meant the data rate, which is 2303.44 kBit/s
Sampling rate: 48.000 kHz
Format: wav, 24 Bit Integer (Little Indian), Stereo
(QuickTime gives also this informations.)
And yes Sampling Rate is set to 48.000 kHz in TVP.
The original file would be too large (2.89 GB), so I made a new smaller one (same proplems here) without drawing, only with sound.
And as same with the large file, if I put the playback frame rate to 23,000 it works fine, with 25 it's too fast (high).
I'll send you PM with a link asap.
