XSheets... can't use external sequence or project
I am following along in the tutorial in the TVP10 manual for XSheets and page 8-14 discusses using a project or sequence as an XSheet layer source. However, in TVP10, "project" is not listed as a source type and if I try to import a tvpp or avi (created by TVP10), it won't load. Using another layer from the same project seems to work ok, however.

Yes, in fact, "project" becomes "clip" with TVPaint 9.5.idragosani wrote:However, in TVP10, "project" is not listed as a source type
Thanks for the report, we will try to update the manual and correct such mistakes.
You can't load .tvpp. But concerning avi, this is strange, you're right. I made a test : it loads the video, but the video only contains black (but when I'm reading it with VLC : I see the video... that's weird).idragosani wrote:and if I try to import a tvpp or avi (created by TVP10), it won't load.
Well, I hope our super-developers could fix this soon
(or, at least, explain why it does not work )

Yeah, clip works as long as it's in the same project. The tutorial shows loading from a separate project. Or maybe I am misinterpreting the tutorial? It clearly shows a path to a loaded project in the pictureElodie wrote:Yes, in fact, "project" becomes "clip" with TVPaint 9.5.idragosani wrote:However, in TVP10, "project" is not listed as a source type

I couldn't even get the external AVI to load as a source for XSheet. Video is otherwise fine, I could load into kdenlive and edit with no problem there.Elodie wrote: You can't load .tvpp. But concerning avi, this is strange, you're right. Probably a mistake : Many things changed in TVPaint 10 and we had only few weeks to update it. As the Xsheet feature is not one of the most used feature (there are many other things to improve here, IMO), screenshots has been changed, but not the text...
Feel free to open a topic "Manual's mistakes" in the Feature requests

Re: XSheets... can't use external sequence or project
I'd never used the XSheet before and wanted to try it out, since it seems to be better for repeated actions rather than using the timeline (XSheet doesn't increase size of file, as it uses references to images rather than the images themselves).

hmmm ...
The XSheet section was written before the development of clips, that's IMO the reason why you have such mistakes ("projects" instead of "clips", etc ...).
However, the bugs you have found need to be fixed.
The XSheet is mostly used by people who have a scanned or grabed image sequence on their harddrive.

Ha, no problem. I wanted to learn how to use the Xsheet just in case I might need it later on. I find the Timeline easier to use, actually. XSheet is also good for playing around with timing or looping and all without messing up your original frame sequence.
