chinese brush problem
chinese brush problem
In the last few weeks since i have had version 10 one of my faovite new brushes is
the chinese brush... it s very expressive and non digital looking but for some reason
though I press the reset button it does not go back to the brush i was used to using.
I have posted the brush marks below it has assumed a 3 d look or when on loop a dashed line ( it seems that when the inner animation in the brush stops then it becomes 3d ) is this a settings issue? not sure what the problem is...

Re: chinese brush problem
these are the settings i get when i select "chinese brush" from the tool bin
make sure you copy these settings:
it looks like you have somehow set anim to "loop" instead of "speed"
and colormode to "color" instead of "smear"

Re: chinese brush problem
Hi Peter thanks - no that didnt fix the problem
the icon for the brush ( next to edit button ) is no longer animating
when the brush is being used - i think this is causing the stroke to be like the
ones at the bottom of the jpeg i posted - the strokes look 3d
and ( ahem..) turdlike? sorry...
anyway thanks for trying to help out

Re: chinese brush problem
Hi Debra,
It comes from a reset of the brush settings, and it would be hard to find the right values/parameters/profiles to use to get the original rendering.
But don't you find the brush back to its default settings when you click on its icon in the tool-bin panel ?
I can post the brush with the good settings in a .tvpx file if required.

Re: chinese brush problem
I tested this and can verify that it doesn't work and I never ever even tried out the Chinese brush.

I'm perplex :
About which tool/option are you speaking ? Please can you post a screenshot of the panel, containing the icon of the tool ?
Indeed, the "shape" of this animbrush is used in the v9.5 and the v10, while the parameters and so the corresponding rendering are completely different.

Re: chinese brush problem
That's the one I tried out -- all it does is creates these turds -- Debra has been experiencing -- I never got it to actually draw.

Re: chinese brush problem
I just tried it (also never knew it was there) but it works for me. So I am no help.
Just tried it again after resetting and it turned blue and chunky..as is painting on a hard paper.... but the paper is not on.

Re: chinese brush problem
definitely in the reset button. If you then activate the tool again in Farbice's Tools, it returns.

Re: chinese brush problem
I think the brush just crashed tvp- was making some sample lines to show you Sandra...
if you can see them - top is after I hit the reset button weird blue chalky line..- next ones were after I checked "speed"
my chinese brushes worked wonderfully for 2 weeks too!!! thats why i miss this brush...
