hello all!
i came to a point where a project file size is around 1gb
now, its possible that this is normal, altho my project is currently not that complex, around 10 layers spread on 200 frames, and only two of them are actual animation and not just stretched.
if its indeed like that in tvpaint, i can handle the the HD space need, the problem is that tvpaint gets really unresponsive when working on a project like that
it just hangs for a few seconds everytime i make specific actions, like choosing a layer, turning a l layer on\off, saving etc... and only getting worse as i go
id like to know if im doing somthing wrong or thats the way its
large file size causing freezes [solved]

Re: large file size causing freezes
It all depends on the dimensions of your project. I draw almost everything at HD 1920x1080 and I picked a project of mine that is 200 frames long, with a 24fps frame rate, in color, 4 layers and almost every bit of every frame is in motion. That's a huge project because of the way every single frame has very few deltas to offer the next frame; in other words almost every pixel is unique -- and it weighs in at 1.47 GB.
Now I look at the pencil version of the same project and it comes to 480MB. So it's hard to tel what's normal. I'm looking at a row of about 100 clips in pencil only, all at 12fps, and I see a range of 5MB to 80MB with a couple of exceptions around 200MB; I'd say the average would be around 20MB for a clip.
How would you describe your project in these terms.
EDIT: Which version of TVP are you working with?

Re: large file size causing freezes
hi paul
im working with TVP PRO 9.5.3
as for my project, its 1280x720, 200 frames long, 25fps
right now im working with 15 layers, probably wanna reduce that, but its still very little animated, only two layers are, the rest are just stretched
could you explain what you mean by pencil version of the project?

By pencil I mean, line; not yet painted. The line I draw paperlessly of course, but out of habit I call it "pencil". BTW, you should upgrade right now; it's free. The version you have is notorious for its bugginess.
