Help - Installing new software ..over Demo??{ALL BETTER!}
Help - Installing new software ..over Demo??{ALL BETTER!}
OH, help, I am unsure why the dongle inserted does not bring up the registration window in my demo version 10. I did install the Sentinel driver, first.
Does this mean I should install the tvp10 software from the dvd? while I still have the demo on the hard drive
Thanks, all you wonderful helpful people!

did you reboot your computer ?Kathleen wrote:OH, help, I am unsure why the dongle inserted does not bring up the registration window in my demo version 10.
do you mean your demo version is still runing (after a restart), in Demo mode ?
Re: Help - Installing new software ..over Demo??
Hiu,
Yes I re-booted, then re-inserted the dongle, then opened demo TVP and nothing new to register or anything.
I realized that I wasn't waiting for the dongle "to be recognized" nothing on the desktop indicating that it was recognized before I opened the program - so I waited a while, next time, and still nothing.

Re: Help - Installing new software ..over Demo??
do you get the Dongle "enlighted" (meaning it's recognized by your system) ?
if not, try to change your dongle's connection to another usb port, if several available on your computer,
and reboot .

Re: Help - Installing new software ..over Demo??
ZigOtto - may be this is the problem?:
I never fully installed the software itself because I have the demo version installed, so perhaps I have to "replace" the demo ( or "earlier version" ) at that point and do a regular install? (I was trying to save the brushes I made in the demo v.)

leave it connected, and look at it during the reboot,Kathleen wrote:/Should I leave the dongle inserted when i restart the computer?
at the end, when you get your desktop on the sceen, it should be lightened,
if not, try the Sentinel "Medic" to see if it can find the sentinel hardware.

Re: Help - Installing new software ..over Demo??
if it's lighted, that's fine, ... forget the Medic.
from the dvd without loosing your previous (precious) config, including your custom brushes.
for security, you may start with a backup of your "demo" user-config folder,
it's in C:\Documents and Settings\yourAccount\Application Data\tvp animation (9 ?)\myconfig*
*("myconfig" = "Default" if you haven't created a new one).
once installed and after launching your new TVPA v10, in the Startup panel,
you have a "Configuration" button which should be "Default" for the first time,
click on it and go into the popup menu to "Copy configuration of another version ...",
use this command to import your previous working config in the new app.
OK, if your demo version is v9.x, and your full licence of tvpa is v10.x, I think you can install the softwareKathleen wrote:... Re: Help - Installing new software ..over Demo??
Ok, I'm on my way to completing this - I think it's going to work - I am at the registration window (thank heaven!) and am going to check the brushes as soon as this part is done.ZigOtto wrote:if it's lighted, that's fine, ... forget the Medic.

I just moved the brushes I created to a folder onto my desktop - can I move those brushes into the new install via configuration? I'm on a mac.

sure, it's possible,Kathleen wrote:... can I move those brushes into the new install via configuration? I'm on a mac.Kathleen wrote:one more quick one: What menu in startup has default or config. button?
but unfortunately I've no idea how to proceed on a Mac, I am on PC only.
wait for another fellow eating the Apple ...
