Just a wild guess. Do you have Subpixel enabled in the Preferences>General Tab?
If not then try to enable it. If I don't enabled it my zoom is behaving strange maýbe it has something to do with this.
Else what tool do you have enabled when using alt+rmb. what timeline is you in project or clip is these . Try to take note of these things if you will try to find a pattern in a crash bug. In my experience a crash never occurs random there is always a system. because a computer is not doing anything random. But it can take a long time to figure out the pattern that trickers the crash.

Henk, can you try to :
* start the software by holding the ctrl key.
* delete your configuration. (be carreful you will loose your brushes, papers, shortcuts, etc ...)
see if it's still crashing.

Hi Fabrice.
No, I posted the answer before your reply.
I just started TVP while holding the CTR key. Yet all my settings are the same. I must have done something wrong?
Henk.

Re: TVP 10 pro shuts down without warning.
When holding CTRL while starting TVPaint, do you have a window that appears ? That window proposes you several thing, notably to create a new interface.
Did you have that choice ?
Secondly, did you recently update your Wacom drivers ?

Hi Elodie.
No I didn't got a window with options. It just started up like normal. I did not updated the drivers of my wacom tablet recently. I use a old USB model Intuos and it seems as if there are no updates available anymore. If I try to update I get the message the drivers are oké. Could it be old age of my wacom? I hate to dispose of things that work very well.
But I didn't had a crash this day, so who knows. In the mean time I have to finish a job in the next week, so I save every time I think of it.
Henk.

that's the rule of thumb for sailing: the first time you think of shortening your sails before a storm is the right time to do it. Once the storm hits it is too late. Same with the save button.so I save every time I think of it.

Okay, so let's do it differently.Henk Beumers wrote: No I didn't got a window with options. It just started up like normal..
Go to Edit > Prefrences > Startup tab and choose "Startup panel".
Close TVPaint Animation and start it again. Then, you will obtain the wished windows =)

Re: TVP 10 pro shuts down without warning.
Allow me to remind you about some less obvious possible causes:
- does TVP behave the same (= crash) when you put the dongle into a different USB slot?
- do all other applications behave correctly?
- do you use external drives? Or drives over a network?

hmmm, so far it never happened.- does TVP behave the same (= crash) when you put the dongle into a different USB slot?
We already had problems of dongle recognition and then the well known popup (dongle not found ....) but not any crash because of that.
but ok, you can try an other USB port. Who knows ?

Re: TVP 10 pro shuts down without warning.
Sandra thought at one point that her strange crashes while exporting TVP files might be caused by her external HD that she has installed to make automatic backups of everything on her computer, but turning it off changed nothing.

I think Sandra has an other problem. (Henk has random crashes at any moment when using TVPaint)Paul Fierlinger wrote:Sandra thought at one point that her strange crashes while exporting TVP files might be caused by her external HD that she has installed to make automatic backups of everything on her computer, but turning it off changed nothing.
nb : check also the Wacom drivers, don't be afraid to reinstall them even if you are up-to-date.
