Ok most likely this is all part of the same problem
See jpeg for naming issue....but here are the problems
1 files names are screwed up when file is saved - a string of numbers added by the program
2 brushes not saved
3 configs not saved
4 last file does not open first as checked in the prefs
5 crashes....

Re: TVP adding a string of numbers to saved files
The numbers appear to be the DATE on which you saved the file. That is a bit odd.

Re: TVP adding a string of numbers to saved files
It comes from the auto-backup option.

Re: TVP adding a string of numbers to saved files
It looks like you are opening the backup files instead of the "original" project every new day you are working on it again.
my theory in steps
1. day: created "MK_02_16_12.tvpp" - Auto Backup is activated
2. day: opened the backup file from day 1 "MK_02_16_12.tvpp.20120213" and saved.
3. day: opened the backup file from day 2 "MK_02_16_12.tvpp.20120213.tvpp.20120215" and saved.
4. day: opened the backup file from day 3 "MK_02_16_12.tvpp.20120213.tvpp.20120215.tvpp.20120216" and saved
... to be continued to create endless filenames
I am not sure about this and I cannot check it out at the moment. But maybe this is the problem.

Re: TVP adding a string of numbers to saved files
Yes, of course, that's why it is advised in the old appendix and the new user guide to delete everything after the ".tvpp" (lesson 1-14)Animark wrote: It looks like you are opening the backup files instead of the "original" project every new day you are working on it again.

Re: TVP adding a string of numbers to saved files
My students sometimes struggle with the files, because they didn't changed their windows system to let them see the file extensions. If you don't see the .tvpp (or .jpg, .bmp, .tif etc.) it could be harder to find the correct file. Here is a link about showing or hiding the file extensions on a windows based system:
